It is all a matter of supply, demand and quality. If someone is writing an article for, let's say $10, probably you could find another writer who would do it for $8 and yet another for $12. The person asking $12 might has chosen this price because he or she values time more and considers him/her self more skilled and of a quality writer than the person asking $8 or $10, but the person charging $12 is within the reasonable range according to the market.
