| Is directories submission effective to generate traffic? |
Your website won't receive significant amount of traffic from directories, but posting your link on free SEO friendly directories will get a non-reciprocal link back to your site which it'll have a positive effect on the rank assigned by search engine particularly Google. I'd say that this action will increase the traffic to your site indirectly once it improves its ranking on the search engine result page (SERP).
Articles submission will get you the same result if you modify the original copy with each submission, targeting different keywords, or write and submit an entire different one each time.
